Recently I was commissioned by Bloom Magazine to produce three step by step editorial illustrations for an article about looking after supermarket herbs. Bloom is a magazine for gardeners, plant admirers, nature lovers, curious explorers and outdoor adventurers. It is beautiful and useful; it looks lovely and it works hard; it makes you muse on the handsomeness of nature and it inspires you to get out there and be a part of it.
This was a great project to work on because I love drawing plants! It kept my hopes up for Spring while illustrating during the dark winter months. A copy of issue 2 was kindly gifted to me and it really is a thing of beauty. From the luxurious printed pages, embossed front cover, stunning editorial design to the beautiful use of photography and illustration. The content is informative and inspiring and has got me wishing for a garden, but at least I have my window boxes and house plants (that is probably enough for me to be getting on with to be honest)
